Pan-regional strategy in Latin America: what changes from one country to another

Positioning a brand in one market is not the same as doing it in three or four at once. Many brands arriving in the region replicate strategies that worked elsewhere or manage their communications from a single decision-making hub, with the same spokespeople and media, as if reputation traveled on its own. But even though Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Argentina all speak Spanish, sharing a language does not mean sharing the same context. And Brazil, the region’s largest economy, speaks Portuguese.

At LatAm Intersect, recognized by the SABRE Awards among the five best PR agencies in the region, we measure this with proprietary data through LatAm Intelligence: 73% of strategic decisions fail due to a lack of local understanding. So how do you achieve a successful pan-regional launch?

The formula for impact across several markets

When a brand operates in three or four markets at once, before deciding what to communicate, it needs to understand the local context. That is why we work with a formula: (Insight + Creativity) × Distribution = Value. We analyze each market with our own data, adapt a central message with local spokespeople and angles, and coordinate its rollout across media and social channels. Two cases show this from different angles.

SoFi Tech Solutions

With SoFi Tech Solutions, formerly Galileo, the central concept was Gustanomics, which argues that banks must win customers the way apps and consumer brands do. Its approach was adapted to each country: in Colombia, through an op-ed in Portafolio; in Mexico, tied to digital credit in Enretail; and in Brazil, as “Gostanomics” in TI Inside. The campaign received a Certificate of Excellence at the SABRE Awards Latin America 2026.

Royal Dutch

Here the challenge was different: launching an imported beer in Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru and Chile, in a saturated market. Instead of focusing on the product, we created Brindography, a concept in which every toast becomes a chapter of life, and brought it to each country through local micro-influencers who told it through their own rituals and celebrations. With organic content alone, the campaign reached more than 643,000 users, with a 4.35% view rate, above Instagram benchmarks. The case received a Certificate of Excellence at the SABRE Awards Latin America 2026 in Influencer Marketing

What brands should keep in mind

  • Define what is non-negotiable. The brand promise and central concept stay the same; everything else can adapt. Without that core, brands risk running isolated campaigns that never build a single reputation.
  • Read each country’s agenda. Checking the calendar is not enough: you need to understand how each topic moves in the local conversation. Elections, regulatory changes or holidays can bury an announcement, and an issue gaining traction in one market may be exhausted in another. The best date for one market may be the worst for another.
  • Anticipate different reactions. What one country sees as an opportunity, another may read as a threat. Having market-specific responses ready avoids improvising.

Speaking the same language brings countries closer, but it doesn’t make them the same. Success does not depend on repeating one message across markets, but on understanding what to say, when and how to communicate it in each one. At LatAm Intersect, that local understanding is the starting point of every strategy: because in Latin America, regional reputation is built market by market.
